Florida residents, like myself, are frequently subject to "free" vacation offers from Bahamian resorts selling their TS presentations. Typically, they offer a discounted cruise (subject to port charges) and a room (subject to a small fee and taxes). They call it a free, but of course, its not exactly and you have to attend a "90-minute" hard-sell.

My wife is hot to do one of these. I was wondering if any of you fine folks have done one in the Bahamas, or have any experience with Bahamian TS's, generally, and any tips on how to get thru it, other than don't buy from the builder.

What company is it?

The first t/s presentation we ever went to was in the Bahamas. It was for Royal Holiday and they were VERY hardsell. In fact, they refused to drive us back to our hotel (which was 20 minutes away) after the very long presentation (as they had promised) after we declined to purchase. They said we would have to wait 2 or 3 hours for a ride. So we stood in the lobby telling every person who was walking in with a salesperson not to trust them. Guess what, they magically found someone to drive us back. We did get our $75, however it was not cash, it was a voucher that we had to bring to a casino and could only be redeemed for $75 in QUARTERS! Back then I didn't know anything about timeshares, but now, in retrospect, I know that they presented many lies, including the "guaranteed rental" spiel, and something else about free airfare that I'm sure would have turned out to be worthless.
