I own a 2 bedroom at Vistana Villages (67100 staroptions) with a first use in 2008. While poking around the II site, I decided to see what happens if I explored the exchange tab. After making pretend travel plans, the site asked me what unit I wish to exchange and then showed me as having a 2007 2 bedroom lock out and the corresponding 1 bedroom sides. Does this mean that somehow, I have 2007 use if done through II? Or is this just wishful dreaming.

With II's site being a little buggy with certain functionality, I'd say its just because we're in 2007. You still need to provide a reservation number to deposit/exchange, so unless you can get one of those, I'd say its wishful dreaming.

Doesn't hurt to try though.

One might call it a bug, but II doesn't know what you have done or plan to do with the week(s) you own. For that matter, it doesn't know if you only own every other year weeks. All the system knows is that you told it that here's a week you own.

Therefore, the II site lists the weeks you could possibly exchange if you wanted to trade them and/or had them available to trade. As was mentioned by the previous reply, you can not actually trade them without a confirmation number of some other acknowledgment by the resort that you have rights to the week you propose to trade.

The nice part about this "bug" is that you can explore what is available with the week you have reserved or what would be available with some other week that you might reserve. This is a nice way to explore the relative trading power of your week if you happen to be able to pick the week you want, i.e., a floating week.

To add, anytime you make an exchange using II, II will confirm with your resort that the week you deposit is available for exchange.

Thanks, I was pretty sure it was just wishful thinking. Now I'll just sit back and explore where I might go if I decide to use my time outside SVN.

II shows that I still have a 2007 week avaialble even though I wasn't able to make a reservation in 2007 due to no availability. Marriott gave me a replacement week deposited that they deposited in to II, but II still shows that 2007 available. My guess is that it will drop off at the end of the year.

My first response was no, non, no...you don't have a week to deposit--that may be one reason why people think they have a confirmed exchange-only for the exchange co to pull it. My second thought was-REALLY! Can I play with the system just to see what I would be ABLE to PULL?? Being new to II, I would love to play with their system to see what my 2 bed HI Xmas will pull. I can't deposit until Xmas week this year, so have to wait. Can you confirm that I can do that without messing someone else up on the other end?
