Is there a specific 2110 book if your're a Starwood owner?

My book is a generic one and doesn't list which are premier, select etc.

is this the book that Starwood owners (own SDO)get?

I got the generic one this week also(own Lakeside Terrace). But when I get the II mag, it's Starwood specific.

How am I going to understand the new rules, as *wood told me they would be in my II book. :bawl: :hysterical:

Only for SVN weeks.

My book is a generic one and doesn't list which are premier, select etc.

They are all like that this year - you have to go to their website for the ratings.

is this the book that Starwood owners (own SDO)get?

Yes - if you bought resale.

My guess is there will be no Starwood in 2110, because...

For 2010, I got the generic II book with rules that no longer work, such as request first. Also, this week I got this the Owner Newsletter email from Starwood with the following:

New Exchange Benefits
We recently announced new benefits, including up to $35 off certain exchanges, for Owners using Interval International. We also streamlined the process, making exchange easier. All of the details are here

The (here) was a BROKEN LINK!!!

After all of this, I still have no official fine print about the new rules and what gives Starwood the legal right to do what they are doing!

The book I got had Starwood specific pages (6-11) in the front. One of the pages is titled "Starwood Vacation Ownership Announces Exciting Exchange Enhancements". That page explains the new reservation rules and how to make II exchanges.

On page 14 it talks about the Select and Premier resorts. But just below that it says that "The Resort Recognition program is available for viewing in the online Resort Directory...".

There are several versions of the book depending on where you own - SVN members get the Starwood version. I also got the "generic" version for my non-SVN weeks. The generic version does not list the new Starwood rules, so I don't know how non-SVN members are supposed to know what they are.

Differences in Vacation Calendars too

I received the Starwood "exclusive" II book, but noticed that the II vacation calendars differ from SVO's. I hope SVO's published calendar on Mystarcentral controls because this makes a big difference for my 2011 weeks. I own weeks 17 and 18 at WSJ and was planning on using both weeks in 2011 because for the first time our week 17 is the Easter weekend (April 24) and so my daughter could go for both weeks and only miss one week of school (her Spring Break is ALWAYS the week after Easter). However, II has week 17 beginning April 30 instead of April 23. If SVO tries to change this to correspond with II, they'll have a huge fight on their hands; I looked back over my SVO materials/calendars and they have week 17, 2011 as beginning April 23 at least since calendars published in 2005, including the current posting on msc.

Just a heads up.

It should not matter that Starwood numbers weeks differently from II. If you make a reservation at your home resort or using StarOptions (i.e. using SVN), then use the Starwood week definitions. If you want to make a trade using II, then use the II week definitions. Your deeded weeks at SVN resorts should correspond to the weeks in the SVN calendar, not the II calendar.
