Any thoughts on a preference between Marbella (Playa Anduluza) or a different resort (Los Amigos Beach Club) in Mijas in the spring? The reviews for Los Amigos are fine and we aren't super picky and at the getaway prices, the units are very tempting. I currently have a unit booked at Playa Anduluza but I have eplus, so I can always make a change. We will only be using the resort as a base for day trips, although access to an "old town" would be a plus. We plan to rent a car. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I haven't stayed at Los Amigos although I did stay at the nearby Wyndham resort last month. I prefer the location of Playa Andaluza and although you state that you aren't super picky the accommodation at Los Amigos does look quite basic. Estepona and the hill town of Benehavis famed for its excellent restaurants are within easy reach of Playa Andaluza

Thank you for this information, especially since you have stayed in both locations. It confirms what I was thinking about the location after reading additional reviews. The reviews for Playa Anduluza are consistently high - so I decided to hang on to what we have already booked. I may use eplus to change dates (currently early March) but no matter what - except for days of torrential downpours - we will be fine with the weather. We are really looking forward to our trip. We plan to add more days on either end in different parts of Spain, and probably some additional time in either Portugal and/or Italy and make it a longer trip.

There are very few criticisms that I can make against Playa Andaluza and they're pretty minor in the grand scheme of things. I don't like the outside grills but I suspect that you won't be using them. The restaurant prices are high for what they serve but that's par for the course in any resort restaurant and the male sauna could do with a bit of TLC. Other than that I love the resort and it's definitely a better option than Los Amigos, I would certainly agree that you keep your trade.
