I sold an RCI points timeshare (Cliffs @ Peace Canyon) to a buyer and the transferred deed was recorded in August 2022. Shout out to LTTransfers for a smooth transaction. The buyer has been getting the runaround from RCI and has just now (January 2023) been able to obtain her newly RCI account/membership to bank her points. However, now RCI is saying I (the seller) must complete a Membership Transfer Application form in order for her to bank her points. I am keeping my RCI account in order to use my unused points, so I’m confused as to why I need to complete this form. The buyer has talked to numerous RCI reps, and I have talked to 4 RCI reps today, getting conflicting answers from each of them. I could see if the form was for transferring “ownership” of the timeshare to the buyer, but it specifically says “Some (but not all) Vacation TIME of Transferor is being transferred to Transferee. This form is so vague. Has anyone had experience with a situation like this? I know my buyer is ready to pull her hair out.
