My ongoing search pulled a two bedroom unit at The Royal Beach Club in Ft. Myers for March 10/07. The last review is about five years old.

We're scrambling a bit at this stage as our cruise plans for next spring have fallen through. I have had searches in with RCI and II since about March for Marco Island and/or the Keys. Threw back something I should have kept but other than that have had no hits. I expanded my seach a few days ago to include further up the SW coast and this is the first hit I've gotten.

Does anyone know anything about the resort? It's right on the beach - is it a good swimming beach in Ft. Myers? We've never stayed there, just driven through, basically.

Thanks very much for any thoughts, Jim and others.

Bev

Fort Myers Beach is a really nice beach, the water is shallow and the water temperature is in the 80's right now. Some days the wataer is real calm and other days there are lots of waves. i don't know anything about this specific resort, I think it might be near the north end of the beach.

Other than my review, there isn't much I can add. I know when we were there there was some remodeling going on in the town houses across from our unit, but we never got to see them. There had been a storm that sent sand everywhere and tore off some of the siding, which was being replaced. The nice thing was it was so close to the "Time square" area of Ft. Myers Beach and we could walk to most everything. If you want basic, then this would be fine.

Beggers can't be choosers. ;)

We don't especially like the traffic, noise, etc., of the Times Square area.

Lawren over at TS4Ms has been looking for something decent for a date pretty close to yours for more than a year and hasn't gotten anything yet.

The beach is nice and it'll be a place to hang your hat. Then you can do a new review.

Take it! Royal Beach 2 BR's should be in the new section. It is a great location, near enough to town center & right on the beach...
