Thoughts on Samoset Resort and is there a $40/day resort for Interval Trades?

We have 1 week at Acadia Village in October and were looking to extend it to a second week in the area. What do you all think of Samoset Resort? Seems to have pretty good reviews.

Lots of complaints about the $40/day/resort fee in reviews. In a pending exchange I had in Interval, that wasn't listed. Does anyone know if Interval trades are charged the resort fee. I actually called the number on the website, but it seems that goes to a general reservations number and that person didn't know. She transferred me to the front desk who hung up on me. I only got a couple of words before that happened, so I don't think they even heard my question.

We were at Samoset last year for two weeks in April. We liked it so much we bought a June week from the HOA. There were no resort fees but we had come in through RCI.

I own 2 weeks there, purchased through the HOA. I have only traded in through RCI, but I have never paid a resort fee. The local number is 207-594-2511. Should get you right to the front desk. I dearly love it there. Like kwelty, I'd stayed there several times, and then loved it so much that I bought when the price was right...one week to trade, and a week in February to use during school vacation week. I also own up at Acadia Village. The two experiences will be quite different, but they are both great places to stay. Acadia Village is more about proximity to ANP than a true "resort" experience. This more relaxed vibe is my preferred type of place. Samoset is more upscale, but I found that I could still have a quiet relaxing vacation, even with the other amenities around me. Samoset 1 br's can be small, but if you are only 2 people, then you'll be fine. Enjoy!

I have been a Samoset timeshare owner and user for many years and have never heard any mention of a "resort fee" there. If such a fee exists, my bet is that it is a fee imposed only upon people who rent Samoset Hotel rooms. If that bet is correct, then the fee has nothing at all to do with the Samoset timeshares, located elsewhere on the property.

That's how I was thinking it was. YAY! I hope you were able to book the week, and that you'll enjoy your time in the great state of Maine!

Samoset is wonderful. Great location. Nice amenities. 2 hours from the national park is not so terrible either. Enjoy!

We love it too. Exchanged in years ago with RCI, and this year got a June week through II. Already booked dinner at Primo in Rockland.
