What's a reasonable price for a Utah prime ski week rental?

I was just looking at www.myresortnetwork.com and the prices for holiday week rentals in and around Park City are scary! People are asking around $3500-$5000 for a one week rental. Does it really cost this much to rent something in Park City for a "peak" (haha, no pun intended) week, such as week 51, 52, Sundance, or President's Week?

Most of these sky-high (oops -- another unintended pun) prices were for luxury resorts (Marriott, say), but even the plain resorts listed were very expensive. For example, someone wanted $4k for a one week rental of a President's Day week at the Cliff Club in Snowbird. Do people really get these prices, or are they just dreaming?

The $3500-$5000 per week prices are real 2 bedroom prices for a ski-in/out property and that was the #1 reason why we bought at the Westgate Park City timeshare.

For a real shock, narrow your focus to only Deer Valley and those prices will double.

You can try other non-ski-in/shi-out properties as they are much cheaper.

Bill, thanks very much for your answer!

I have some other questions about Park City that don't quite fit this thread. Since you own there, I'll send you an email. Thanks!
