For those of you who both own DVC and sail DCL there have been a few changes onboard.

On our last cruise a few months ago, we attended the 'Welcome Home' event and somewhat to our surprise found out that DVC had eliminated the raffle. But the DVC cast member said they had replaced it with a $50 onboard credit...but we had to go to the other meeting open to non-DVC folk to get it. Sadly, it conflicted with something else we wanted to do, but...

This cruise we went to the 'salespitch' meeting (sorry, I forgot what it was called) and was told that as a DVC member we were ineligible to receive the onboard credit.

Sigh. I try not to wax eloquent about things 'back in the day'...but when we first were getting into the whole Disney thang the best salesmen for DVC were the owners onboard. The actual DCL/DVC salesreps just had to find times for all the prospective DVC buyers...the owners were doing the selling for them. Of course, that was back when all owners were treated the same and prices direct vs resale were comparable after incentives.

On another note, the DVC salesreps on Deck 3 were as nice as could be and always tried to get us the goodies we missed from previous days. This sailing, not so much.

I have enjoyed attending the DVC meetings onboard the ships. I even participated as a contestant on their little game show a couple of times. I did notice last March though that at the end of the DVC meeting only one or two people picked up a time slot from the DVC board to get a personal presentation. Maybe they have figured out that current owners just aren’t as profitable as non-owners.
