About 30 miles from the Main Airport in Maui sits the wonderful Ka'anapali Beach Club by Hilton Grand Vacations. Ka'anapali is a huge resort area filled with many of the worlds most elegant resorts. I stayed in a one bedroom with an wonderful deck with a great view of the mountains from the deck. The unit also comes with a Sofa-bed.

The pool and hot tub are amazing. There is a bar and a restaurant on site as well as grills that face the ocean... Nothing like cooking dinner and watching a sunset. This is one of the former Diamond Resorts that is in the process of being converted to Hilton. The relaunch is scheduled to happen while I am here. The staff was extremely helpful.

Good report!! To clarify, as with most of the former Diamond Resorts, it is actually a Hilton Vacation Club, not a Hilton Grand Vacations Club.
Correct about Vacation Club... It is not clear yet if some of them will be upgraded over time to "grnd Vacations... They are completely upgrading the Point at Poipu... Curious if future shifts will occur????

Based on announced plans, there aren't any plans to rename any former DRI resorts to Hilton Grand Vacations Club. Just Hilton Vacation Club.

Cliff I couldn't quite tell but it looks like there no actual W/D in the 1 bdrm units? (I saw the laundry basket but you are always good about filming everything and I didn't see any in-unit laundry).

Yes. No laundry in the one bedroom. I believe they are shared units on the floor but oops, forgot to video

There are share W/D on every floor, and I believe they are free.

In my Hawaiian points maintenance summery they said the resort was still closed to owners and it was phase II of opening of West Maui resort reopening. Does any body know when the resort will resume normal operations?

I thought it was supposed to be soon... The reason it was closed to bookings is that they are housing a lot of the displaced people who lost their homes.... The Lahaina area is still closed as they haven't restarted the water service to the community until they fix all the areas where the damage was to pipes from the fire... Some of the people I spoke to were waiting for water to move back into their homes... More homes were affected than were destroyed....

Not sure when that will happen.

You went through the kitchen really fast. Was there a full kitchen or just the microwave.
Oven? Cooktop?

This is it. Most of the units at the KBC are identical 1 bedroom with the tiny kitchen. They usually have an electric frying pan under the counter or available from housekeeping. The few 2 bedroom units are hard to get into.

You can get a hot plate, rice cooker, and tea pot by asking the front desk. I use to stay there yearly and had to ask for the hot plate each time
