I was going through the checkout process in Interval for a Nanea booking and saw this today:

Fee Advisements
Self parking fee $25/day/Valet $30/day.

Does anyone know when this started? I have never had to pay for this before and am wondering if I just missed it in the fine-print when booking previously (I have a Nanea booking that I booked in August last year and am wondering if I will be charged for that one too).

Thanks.

It was there when we went in January 2023. We came in under II but since we were owners they waived the parking fee. Just ask.

We stayed at WKORVN in January (our home resort) using II and didn't have to pay the daily parking rate there.

No - there is only a charge if your rent from Marriott/Vistana. Timeshare type reservations have no charge for parking. The only mandatory fee is the State of Hawaii occupancy tax.

I had also checked KAN and KAA and they did not list the parking charge, only Nanea.

I dug up my old Interval confirmations for Nanea, and in 2022 they didn't list the parking and in 2023 they did. In any event I have not been charged for the parking previously so I hope they keep that up. Thanks for confirming @DeniseM

We are staying there in November 2024 on a Interval exchange and it does list parking fees.

-----------------------------

Important Information

Self parking fee $25/day/Valet $30/day.
Guests are responsible for payment of a nightly State of Hawaii Transient Occupancy Tax, assessed on all units.

All of the reservations now ”list” parking fees, it’s apparently a limitation of the Marriott system. But they are not applicable to timeshare reservations, whether you are an owner there or have exchanged for your stay. They only apply to stays where you’ve paid cash to Marriott or used Bonvoy points for the stay.

I never take advantage of that but I think they still do offer it. But you need to remember to use your car on day two (and then self park it) if you don't want the valet fees to start adding up. I often find that the second day at the property is a day we may not use the car until late in the day if at all, so it's easier to just park it myself after arrival and unloading.

But I'd confirm when you arrive that the first night is free. I don't know if there is a deadline to retrieve your car the next day before they start charging but that would be another good question to ask.

They do still do it and point it out when giving you your parking pass at check-in. I never do it as it's not really free due to the tip they expect and I swear from experience they'd still give me the 'disappointed' look even if I gave $100 bill. :D
