Question about purchasing specific unit

Apologies if this information already somewhere in these threads.

If I purchase a specific Hyatt week/unit via resale, is it possible to request a different unit at the time of reservation or check in which is in a more desirable building and/or floor? Of course, this would be subject to availability. My husband and I will no longer be at the mercy of school calendars (yay!) so will no longer need to travel during peak weeks. We are looking to purchase for a week which is desirable to us but not sure how restrictive the unit component is.

Thanks!

From my understanding if you are making a home reservation, they always put you in your unit. You could try to get something different, but there wouldn't be any guarantees.

Most resorts assign specific units about 2-4 weeks prior to arrival. You will be your owned unit but can contact the resort well ahead of time to request an alternate unit. Make the request somewhat broad as a specific unit you request could be owned by another member who will occupy their unit during that week. Most guests do not request units so you will likely be successful.

I have asked [by calling the resort directly in advance] and been given the opportunity to be in a different unit. This was at Coconut. On other occasions with reservations for 2 weeks in a row I have asked to be in the same unit for both weeks, and each time was accommodated, as long as I was willing to give up our owned unit location. If you have a preference, always ask. I have found them to be very flexible, but your chances are better if you can ask as far in advance as possible.
