Renting Hyatt in Maui, Extra Fees?

We are renting Hyatt Kaanapali from owner, what other fees are we (renter) responsible for? How much is daily parking?

Transient occupancy tax (TOT) that you pay everywhere in Maui. There is no parking fee unless you self park so everyone uses valet parking and pay a tip.

PS. Call the front desk and ask how much it is because it depends on what size condo you are staying in..

I wonder if the owner somehow picked up the TOT. We own on Maui and whenever we stay in our timeshare, or guests stay in it, they pay.

Sorry, that question was meant for Tucsonadventurer. We pay it at all three resorts in Maui where we own. Tucson may not have noticed it on her bill when she checked out. I can't remember how much it was on our bill.

I would be very surprised if you weren't assessed the TOT when you leave. When we've rented our week I have always alerted the renter of the TOT.

However, we rented a unit in a timeshare property from someone who has full ownership (meaning her unit is not a timeshare). We paid a "flat" fee, but I'm fairly sure there were some kind of taxes included in there.

Yes we did pay the tax. It was pretty low so barely noticed it mixed in with our poolside food/drink bill. Sorry for the confusion. Such a great resort, can't wait to return!

The TOT is not specific to Maui only but whole of Hawaii? We will be in Koolina the week before.
