?Timeshare cancellation

I just received confirmation of a trade into Playa Andaluza for May 2010. I have requested a 2nd consecutive week at any of the 3 Spanish resorts. Unfortunately, my excitement is tempered by the fact that they have changed the vacation policy at work and am no longer sure that I will get these weeks off. My thinking is that I should go ahead and continue to book the 2nd week as I will probably get at least one of the weeks off. What happens if I have to cancel? I will probably know 5 to 6 months ahead of time if I can get the vacation.

I haven't had to cancel an II exchange but here's a thread from May, 2009, about II cancellations. Hope it helps ...

We have a similar concern with vacation policy at work. Currently my wife and I get three weeks of vacation and we can "buy" a week. Well we may not be able to "buy" that fourth week in 2010. So going from four weeks to three will be painful. No official announcement yet, so we are still hoping for the best.
