A thread to post your faves.

I love the opening scene from "Once Upon a Time in the West". Sergio Leone at his finest. Minimal dialogue. Everything is set by mood.

When I saw the title of the thread, this was also the first movie I thought of. It is still one of my all time favorites with great actors, music, and direction. I really liked the different music for each character. The final duel scene was also great. Peter Fonda said this was one of his favorite acting opportunities because he got to play a villain.

I also really like most of the opening scenes for James Bond movies.

GREAT QUESTION!!!!!!!!!

Saturday Night Fever........it just makes me want to dance.

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.........nobody else is that cool.

Apocalypse Now........the foreboding and unfathomable evil of war.

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring........a magnificent story about to unfold.

Once Upon a Time in the West..........last but not least, perhaps the most iconic opening scene ever, and my personal favorite.
Truly brilliant and unforgettable.

I know it’s not a movie, but the Game of Thrones prologue was epic. It sets the tension for the entire series. From the opening when the 3 rangers are behind the the gate to the shot of the wall, it keeps you wondering from the start. The first glimpse of a white walker and a wight made you wonder even more.

I’d link it, but it’s pretty graphic (blood and gore).

The Office Space opening scene linked above is so funny because I’ve been in that exact same situation.

I also love the Pulp Fiction opening.

The Dark Night. "Whatever doesn't kill you, makes you ... stranger."

.

A but surprised no one has posted the opening scene from the movie also known as "201 Minutes of a Space Idiocy":

The opening scene from Farewell, My Lovely.

If you ever watch the movie, try to get the non-widescreen version, if you can. It was how the film was designed to be seen. . .
