Chaudiere Lodge: https://www.chaudierelodge.com/index.php
Hello Jim and hi to Paula! Fishing from shore is free, there are kayaks and canoes available on a first-come/first-served basis, power boats for rent and guided fishing for a fee. I don't fish but Fred is hoping to meet others who are willing to share the cost of a guide for a day. I plan on reading, knitting and hiking on Dokis tribal trails. We both will be taking lots of photos, plus one day we'll be leaving the lodge for church and golf.
Thanks, Diane for the tip about DEET. I worry about flies too- got a bite from one the other day that hurt for several days after- luckily my golfing partner had bug spray in her bag so it was just the one chomp. We are coming us via Toronto from the Cleveland suburbs. Not doing it all in a day, but spending the night prior to check-in in Ancaster at the Barracks Inn and meeting some cruising friends for dinner.
Enroute home we are spending one night on Manitoulin Is, taking the ferry the next day and exploring the Bruce Peninsula and staying in Sauble Beach before driving back along the shore of Lake Huron.
Really looking forward to this unique timeshare trade!

Sounds fun, Barb. Is fishing included? Enjoy!

You will be about 2 hrs north of me (& pass by my exit on Hwy 400 if you are driving up from Toronto). It is beautiful country up there and thankfully, now the huge forest fire just south of there, is under control as of yesterday. Take some good (Deet) bug spray as the mosquitoes seem to be hanging on longer this year, being especially bad at dusk. Enjoy your week!~Diane
