Welp, I'm reworking a planned vaca later this year that had included some days in a private rental on Sanibel. We'll have a vehicle since our trip includes an exchange into Key Largo (second try, first time cancelled first year of covid), plus visits to friends/relatives en route. So I'm back to planning a few days in Key West instead, which I'd earlier scrapped in favor of Sanibel. I may prefer some possible accommodations outside of Old Town, and yes we could uber everytime we want to go somewhere, but considering a possible alternative of finding free parking near a stop on that free Duval bus loop, and using that as a shuttle back and forth to our parking spot. Our stay would be weekday, not weekend. Then we could sometimes walk, sometimes uber. I just like the freedom to go back and forth to our hotel a few times during a long day. So, looking for comments/experience on:
1. a website/app showing free parking called SpotAngels? It shows blocks that offer free parking 24/7, in addition to metered parking, and apparently, there are b&b's on booking.com advertising free parking, but that's what they mean.
2. Free Duval bus loop: how reliable, how often, how fast/slow?
Edited to add: oops, meant to post to Florida sub-forum, hoping an administrator can move this.
