I’ll admit it, I wondered “what about Australia?” After looking it up, Australia is considered a continent. Although completed surrounded by water, it cannot be considered an island because it is already considered a continent.

The questions remain the same but the answers change.?

As educated in the New South Wales (Australia) educational system over 50 years ago we were taught Australia was unique as it was both an island and a continent. It was referenced as " an island continent".

Googling "is Australia an island continent" it depends what answer you prefer.

yes - if 'Oceania' is the continent then Australia is an island
