Has anyone ever done a private exchange where you need to make sure you get a handicap unit for the person you are exchanging with? How does this work, and how likely are you to get a unit?
Generally, you just contact the resort 2 weeks inadvance of check-in to make any room requests. A handicap unit will be at the top of the list of requests for Marriott.
My last few exchanges I've needed a handicap bathroom (ie, no "shower over bathtub). I call the resort ahead of time. They always say they have such a unit, however "they cannot guarantee it" ahead of time. They will write my name down, and hopefully it will be available. That said, I've always gotten what I need when I arrived. But its nerve wracking,..
