Marriott would probably take it in a $0 transaction via ROFR. The OP could easily sell it for $1000 or more. I personally would do what I could to keep it out of MVCs hands.
I know you don't believe me but I paid $0 for one in the last two years as did another friend.
Both were not taken in ROFR.

There are so many listings that I think I will be very difficult.

That's nice.
But maybe you want to give it for free to a TUGer who will pay the closing costs to LTT?
Same result for you and a nice gesture to a TUG member.

Marriott is just going to resell it for $30,000
They will let me keep 2024 week and any balance I have. The transition will be effective January 2025.

It isn't that I don't believe you, but there are sometimes other factors at play as to what goes into what a broker (or Ebay seller) may put into what they submit to MVC for the ROFR. Sometimes they bake in MFs to be paid, broker fees, closing costs all as one big purchases price. I don't see any entries on ROFR.net for $0 purchases.

Generally MVC doesn't usually want current year usage. I would also assume that you already paid 2024 fees, which is also something that MVC seems to adhier to. Those who pay the annual maintenance fee keeps that usage year.

One of these just sold on eBay for around $1800 so yeah, I agree, Op should be able to sell this for something.

That one also required the buyer to pay an additional $770 in closing costs.

Neither were ebay purchases. Redweek with closings by LTT and contracts indicating correct sales price.

And yes, times have changed.
