The Pono Kai Resort mini-suite in Building K
I would also like to know if there is a way to deed back my Bldg. K 1-week mini-suite to The Pono Kai Resort. I purchased it in May 1998, and now I am retired and cannot afford their exorbitant maintenance fees anymore. Do you know who I can contact about this?

Whether or not a timeshare resort will accept deedbacks is a matter of individual resort / chain policy. In other words, not all resorts accept deedbacks and, in fact, many / most do not (and some others that do accept deedbacks may selectively "cherry pick" what they will take back). I claim no knowledge whatsoever regarding your particular resort; you really should contact the Board of your resort directly to ascertain whether they accept deedbacks and, if so, what fee they will charge you to do so. Know in advance that your maintenance fees will have to be fully paid up to date (if the resort even accepts deedbacks at all). Don't take the word of a desk clerk answering the phone at the resort; get definitive and correct "deedback" information and response directly from the resort Board, preferably from its' President.

Good Luck!

..1 (877) 976-6652, INFO@PONOKAIRESORT.COM . try emailing them and seeing if they offer a deedback program
I'll echo part of Theo's suggestion above. Make sure that this contact information gets you to the resort's Homeowners' Association board and not just a front desk clerk or someone with general information about the resort rather than the ownership board.
