Trapp Family Lodge questions
1) Is there a vacation destination you wish to visit most of the time or on a regular basis? if so where?
yes Stowe, VT We are buying week 45, a late fall week at Trapp Family Lodge from an owner for $350 (deed transfer and closing costs) and paying this years maintenance fees. Previous owner has traded this unit to Hawaii and South Seas with II. Wondering how far in advance these plans usually have to be made. We may not be able to use the full week this Nov, if I am not picky, is it reasonable to think that there would be any exchanges available for a week in August anywhere in driving distance from Boston or Sanibel. We are also planning to buy a Feb week to use for skiing at the property. I have read all I can find about this timeshare. There doesn't seem to be a lot or many rentals or resales online. At the property, you can buy resales at many different price points. Looking to see if anyone has anything to add. It seems like most people buy at Trapp to go to Trapp. We have been guests several times and really like it. But it isn't for everyone.
2) Do you want to visit your home resort at least half the time, or do you want to trade more than half the time? Yes
3) What are your 5 top trade destinations? Captiva, Caribbean, Rocky Mountains
4) How many people do you usually travel with? 2-4
5) Can you travel any time, or are you locked into the school schedule? anytime after next year
6) Can you make firm plans 12 or more mos. in advance? no
7) Can you vacation for a full week at a time? yes
8) What level of accommodations do you prefer on a scale of 1 to 5 stars? 3-5
9) How much can you afford to spend upfront, without financing? $5000
10) How much can you afford to spend every year for a maintenance fee that will come due right after Christmas, and increase each year?
11) Are you a detail oriented planner? Yes
12) Do you understand that once you buy a timeshare, it may be very difficult to sell or give away, and you are responsible for all fees, until you do? yes
