We are traveling to New Orleans in late April for four nights. Please recommend budget friendly ($150.00 or less) hotels. We'd like to stay in the French Quarter area, non-smoking room, clean and safe. Don't need a pool, etc. We won't have a car so will use Uber/Lyft and public transportation. Thanks for your help.

You should be able to find a French Quarter Hotel for ~$150/night. However, I would first check with Quarter House (www.quarterhouse.com).

Thanks Chapjim. I reached out to the Quarter House--$425.00 per night, no cancelations, must pre-pay. It's jazz fest so the price is up--yikes.

Anyone have any other specific hotel recommendations?

For Jazz Fest and a budget of $150/night, I’d pull up Google or Travelocity or Expedia and search for availability, then look directly at the website of any possible locations. You’ll probably have to go farther than the Quarter - we spent the weekend in NOLA visiting family, and the Marriott Residence Inn in Metairie, about a 10-15 minute drive to the Fairgrounds, was over $250/night for a standard king bed room. As you’ve found out from Quarter House, Jazz Fest hotels don’t come cheap. Especially when The Rolling Stones are playing.

Thanks Holleys87. I will try your suggestions. Our timing is bad. We aren't even trying to go to the jazz fest. We prefer country music. We are spending two weeks prior in Destin, FL. and thought we'd tag on a few nights in NOLA.

We like the Drury Inn on the trolley line which is close but not in French Quarter when we cannot get into our TS. $250/night during that time is what I found. Good breakfast & appetizers/alcohol in the afternoon are included.

Good luck! You might even expand your search to the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain, i.e. to Covington/Mandeville/Slidell, if you won't mind driving into the city and back again for sight seeing. But I think Jazz Fest has gotten to be just secondary to Mardi Gras at bringing people in to NOLA.

I did not check current prices, but Hotel Provincial is nice and has a great location. It's an independent in an old building. Has been reasonably priced for us.

This question prompts reflection on the psychology behind decision-making, consumer behavior, and the power of marketing and persuasion in the timeshare industry. It also invites considerations of the emotional appeal, perceived value, and potential benefits that draw individuals to participate in this unique form of vacation ownership.

Thanks again every. I ended up booking the Drury. The Hotel Provincial had a no refund policy. While I don't plan to cancel, sometimes you just never know and have to cancel.
