Week 52

I am new here, trying to understand timesharing. I don't fully understand those week numbers. What is, for example, week 1 in 2009? Does it start on Thursday, January 1? Or Saturday, January 4? Then, I suppose, the first three days in January 2009 are a part of week 52 in 2008, right?

What is week 52 in 2012? Looks like it is going to be December 23-29, right? Since there is no week 53, then which week is December 30, 2012, to January 5th, 2013?

Just trying to get a clear picture here.

Here is a Timeshare Calendar - if you ever need it again, it's on the TUG Advice Page (link in red bar - top of page.)

Timeshare weeks almost always start on Fri., Sat., or Sun. depending on your deeded ownership, or in case of a floating week, what week you reserved.

A week is a week, depending on when your week starts, the count wil vary.
Google "timeshare calandar" for the year you want.

Some resorts use a slightly different calendar so it's best to double check with the resort to see when they think a particular week starts.

There is a Week 53. I falls on leap years. Depending on the checkin day, it will fall on different years (see the schedule). Some resorts treat week 53 differently. We own a Silverleaf Week 52 and they give us the Week 53 free to use as we please with no additional M/F. Other resorts will charge a M/F to Week 52 owners or just rent them out or whatever.

I also own week 52 at Vacation Village at Parkway, I have the option to pay the maintenance fee without taxes and can receive an additional 92,500 RCI Points when week 53 falls on a Saturday - Saturday.
