I was thinking of Maui for our 20th anniversary next year and was wondering if a one bedroom at WKORV-S can pull a 2 BR (WKORV-either property) in the summer season from II

A 1 bdm. can trade into a 2 bdm. with an instant online exchange, but you aren't likely to see any 2 bdm. units in the summer in online inventory.

It would be rare for a 2 bdm. to show up in online inventory in the summer because:
1) Starwood tries not to deposit prime summer weeks in II, and
2) If any summer weeks are deposited they will used to fill ongoing requests first.

If you need a 2 bdm. in the summer, you should put in an ongoing request with a 2 bdm. With an ongoing request, you can't request a 2 bdm. with a 1 bdm. deposit.

Yes - but you want to get your request in ASAP, and request a wide range of dates, rather than just one week.

I think an ongoing search might be the ONLY way to get anything for 2011. We haven't seen a single Starwood Hawaii week deposited for 2011. This is new. We used to see large bulk bankings for at least off-season weeks, and now there seems to be nothing at all. I think we need to all be aware of this and act accordingly.

I have a request with a decent trader, not Starwood, 2 bedroom, for January on Kauai. If that request comes through, I will let everyone know.

Westin Kaanapali Maui now available in Interval

This is my first post though I have been a long time Tug lurker. I am able to see lots of availability on-line for Westin Kaanapali (villas and North) from looking to exchange (with my Harborside) for the dates of January to June 2011--even some two bedrooms. So go get them!!
