Happy Aloha Friday! Here in sunny California, I planted my tomatoes yesterday and picked 10 peppers off my pepper plants from last year's garden! I also have spinach and lettuce coming up.

We just had Italian Sausage and Peppers Sandwiches for dinner yesterday.

Happy Aloha Friday!!! February flew by and we now head into March. Seems like before we know it, summer will be upon us.
This week's picture takes us over to Oahu in Waikiki. When we lived on Oahu, we lived on the 26th floor of Aloha Lani and one side had a view of the Ala Wai Canal and the Ko'olau mountains. On the other side, we could see the ocean and our closest neighbor, The Royal Kuhio. The Royal Kuhio was built in 1976 and now is home to a few management companies for timeshares and some whole owned condo units. Every time I see pictures of it, it reminds me of our time living on Oahu.

Happy Aloha Friday! Yesterday was the 4th anniversary of my retirement. I retired on Feb. 29, 2008. I invited my Minnesota coworkers to my party at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel's Mai Tai Bar, but nobody showed up. I even offered to buy them pupu's and mai tais. I was just DW and me. It didn't stop us from having a good time.

Every day in retirement is a leap year for me. No more Monday's - Friday's 9-5 hours, no more driving in traffic and no more wishing the day was Friday. LOLNot really. I retired on a leap year day.

It is like January here in Oregon. Lots of snow in the Coast Range, which is unusual at any time of the year. Feet of snow in the Cascades but not as bad as parts of California.

Cool and rainy here in San Diego County. Nice and green. Last week, on February 26, it was actually warmer in my normally deep-frozen hometown (Minneapolis) than it was here. It was 65 degrees there that day, the warmest ever recorded there in the month of February. Never thought I'd ever see Minnesota (!!) get warmer than Southern California on a winter day!
